What is my regular plan costing me?

A regular plan pays your distributor or bank a trail commission out of your returns every year, usually between 0.5% and 1.5%. It never shows on a statement. This prices it.

Both plans hold the same portfolio; the only difference is the commission. Before switching an old regular plan, price the tax and exit load; fresh money should go to the direct plan straight away.
